TOPEKA, June 14 - The Imaging Center by Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, the leading provider of outpatient medical imaging services in Topeka and the surrounding region, today announced that it's computed tomography ("CT") service has earned accreditation by the American College of Radiology ("ACR"), making it the first and only facility in Kansas to achieve such recognition.

"We are pleased and proud to be the first CT provider in Kansas accredited by the American College of Radiology," said Dennis C. Petterson, M.D., Radiologist in Charge at The Imaging Center. "With over 30,000 members, the ACR is a major professional society devoted to making medical imaging safe, effective and accessible. The practice standards set by the ACR are widely recognized as essential to high quality imaging services."

"Accreditation demonstrates that our CT service meets or exceeds the high standards set by the American College of Radiology for image quality, equipment performance and technical expertise for both adult and pediatric cases," according to Deb Hale, Director of Clinical Operations at The Imaging Center. "As a result, patients and referring physicians who need CT services can look to The Imaging Center by Radiology and Nuclear Medicine with an added measure of confidence."
